My name is Matt Polson, and I am a Red Seal Carpenter, the owner and lead carpenter of Polson Home Renovations Inc.

During my high school and college years I worked in a local bike shop as a sales staff member and a mechanic repairing bikes.  This experience not only taught me the importance of customer service but also gave me a deeper understanding of how things are constructed and maintained.

I started my post secondary education in Engineering at Ottawa U., but after a few years I decided I was more interested in a hands on profession rather than a theoretical one.  So, I switched to Algonquin College and completed a diploma in Cabinet Making.  There, I had the privilege of representing my school at Skills Ontario in the cabinetmaking competition.  This experience helped me develop my skills and gave me the opportunity to showcase my talent in front of others.

After graduating from Algonquin College, I apprenticed in carpentry under some very talented carpenters.  During this time, I gained valuable experience in all aspects of the trade, from rough framing to finish carpentry, tiling, hardwood floor installation and so on.

I am dedicated to my craft and passionate about what I do.  I believe that quality craftsmanship is paramount, and I take pride in every project I work on.  Whether it’s a small bathroom update or a whole home renovation, I approach each job with the same level of care and attention to detail.

Aside from work, I can be found running or cycling trails or roads around Ottawa, skiing in the winter or backcountry camping with my family and friends.  I am always looking for ways to push myself physically and mentally, and these activities provide the perfect outlet for me.

Thank you for visiting my website.  Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or if you would like to discuss your project.

Best regards,

Matt Polson
